Šejla Kamerić
Šejla Kamerić (b. 1976 Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina) completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, Department of Graphic Design. Until 2000 she worked with the design group Trio and acted as Art Director for the marketing agency Fabrika, Sarajevo. In her artistic practice Kameri œ uses the media of photography and video to juxtapose an explicit social context with intimate perspectives. She creates tense artefacts from society through an almost obsessive documentation of details and objects that surround her. The orchestration of public interventions, diverse types of actions and site-specifically formed installations are one of the most important aspects of her approach to art.

Kamerić's recent solo exhibitions include in 2008 Šejla Kamerić, Galerie im Taxispalais, Innsbruck, Austria; Particle or more, Moria Gallery, Hvar, Croatia; Is it rain or is it a hurricane, Emil Filla Gallery, Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic; What do I know, DAAD Gallery, Berlin, Germany and in 2007 Mit tudok, Trafo - House of Contemporary Arts, Budapest, Hungary; What Do I Know, O.K. Center for Contemporary Art, Linz, Austria. Kameriæ's participation in group exhibitions include Tales of Time and Space, 1st Folkestone Triennial, Folkestone, UK, 2008; You & Me, Sometimes ... , Lehmann Maupin Gallery, New York, USA, 2008; Hell is ... other people, Stedelijk Museum Bureau - Amsterdam, Netherlands, 2007, Zones of Contact, 15th Biennale of Sydney, Australia, 2006.

In addition to her group and solo exhibitions, Kamerić's short films have been shown and awarded in numerous film festivals. In 2007 Šejla Kamerić was awarded the DAAD Fellowship.

Šejla Kamerić currently lives in Sarajevo and Berlin.
